Hi all,

I have been wanting to get to Wootton Bassett for months to attend a repatriation day so that I can hand out our cards during the build up to the ceremony. I have been told they would be very warmly received but sadly the only thing preventing me getting there is a lack of pennies.

If any of you live nearby and would like to meet up and do the honours of handing out our cards, to what must be the most appropriate group of people we could find, please let me know and I shall arrange cards to be sent to your address. My ex army colleague who attended the last one said it was an experience he would always cherish. It was he who said to get the cards out there asap, he said there are so many strong supporters of our troops there they would be swallowed up.

Thank you, Mac

Mac, Can't say too much yet, but I am going to contact WB town Council next week to invite representatives to attend my book launch in Swindon - where as well as my launch - there will be a FLOW display - Tom and James have kindly agreed to run for me. Without FLOW there would be no On Calico Wings! I am also going to contact the Swindon Advertiser - so that may help to spread the word! No promises, but I'll do what I can. Know WB very well - lived in Swindon for 4 years. One of the reasons too hold the launch there - to 'give' something back!

Great stuff Jan... if we get some pics on the day, with me, Flow, you and Wooten Bassett reps... I'll go for my local papers again. ' Windsor & Eton Express ', and The Windsor Observer ' ( Which The Queen reads, being a local resident in Windsor Castle ! )
Anything I need for the FLOW Display ? apart from my charm ! Have we got cards etc ?
( I was part of the travelling Army Recruiting team for 2 seasons, so am used to doing displays to the public )
Looking forward to our day in Swindon promoting FLOW.

It promises to be a promising launch Tom - PLANS ARE AFOOT!

Really exciting phone call this evening! Matt Holland from the Swindon
Literature Festival called and apologised that all slots for the
actual festival are full - but could I send him some invites for my
book launch, he will try to 'pop in' and also SPREAD the word around
writing and poetry clubs in Swindon! So a block of invites will be on
there way!!! As well as my e mail to him direct Darren Bennett (Arts
Centre and Culture in Swindon) had spoken to him Re my booking the
Arts Centre for the launch!

I have cards and postcards- thanks to Mac (when I did the Shorelink display). Plus some other supporting stuff I put together. Also have the 'poppies' on loan from Helen Re FLOW launch last year.

But please feel free to add what you have - we can pool it together!

I am sure you'll do a grand job!

Jan, it all sounds wonderful. I bet you have a really lovely day and I hope you attract them in their droves.

If you get a result with anyone from WB, just pass them my details and I'll send them hundreds of cards to give out if they would be so kind.

I am also writing to the head teacher of the school there so here's hoping for that one too.
