Perhaps the most important part of this site is the friendships that we have, allbeit online, nevertheless 'writing is the most fun that you can have on your own (Terry Pratchett)' and by its nature means that we interact at the end of our fingertips and keyboards.
Certainly, I find face-to-face interactions very difficult, if not impossible due to the length of time it takes me to make a decision, so the much slower pace in here is pleasing.

Not altogether certain if 'Friendship' is the right word, maybe 'Pen Pals' or 'Diarists' or the original meaning of 'Journalist'.
Colleagues travelling on the train of life with occasional stops at stations along the way, when I was a practicing 'Mormon' it would have been church or temple rather than station, though I suppose that there are the 'Stations of the Cross'.
It is now many years since that time of my nervous breakdown and coming into contact with the LDS - one should never interact with religionists if one's mind is elsewhere.
I suppose that they mean well.

Too true Chris we are all connected via our fingers and it also has been a huge pleasure in meeting the owners of all of you who move your digits to flow onto the website.
But we must also remember why we are here. To support those that are in need and Chris I believe that you can safely say that all on here will gladly be your friend and even family that you can lean on at anytime mate. Alex |

For me it's friendship 'reaching out' beyond a handshake. Jan |

| Hello, Yes friendship can and does indeed reach out beyond physical contact, the mind is a very powerful thing and reaches out to all. Knowing that friends are always there if not in person but in their minds and hearts, gives great comfort in times of need, "friends" can also be found in other than human beings, moments of beauty, precious objects may mean nothing to some but offer great comfort and friendship to the owner, I have my "Cup and Saucer Tree" Chris has all his animal creations which have become friends to many of us. Sorry i ramble.Taffy. |
